Futo Former Student Joins United States Military

Christian U Orji (also known as O'kriso), a graduate of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), has entered the United States Army after successfully completing his training.

In one of the recent updates on his WhatsApp status he said; "This is the proudest moment of my life, as I join the greatest land force on earth!"

Okriso graduated from the Department of Mathematics in the Federal University of Technology Owerri (Futo) and subsequently became a tutorial master upon graduation, teaching mathematics and helping out students in mathematics related courses. He is the brain behind the popularly known lecture note/material/book called Mathematics In My Bones sold in almost all bookshopes in Futo.

During his days as a post graduate student in Futo (while doing his M.Sc in mathematics), he didn't relent in his quest for knowledge and love for teaching and simplifying complex concepts for students in mathematics. Not just in Futo, but in neighboring tertiary institutions like Nekede Polytechnic and Imo State University (IMSU), his magical touch on mathematics was felt.

A student of Futo who chose to remain anonymous has the following to say about Christian U Orji. Read below;

“O'kriso's lecture notes are usually self-explanatory, he taught me maths 001 during my pre-degree days in Futo, and of course, he warned us to get as much as we can from him because he would be leaving Nigerian in no distant time.

“Unfortunately, freshmen in Futo aren't lucky enough to meet or learn from O'kriso, but they can learn from other maths tutors in Futo like; Mr Unleash and Sir Calculus”.

Below is a short post written by O'kriso and he talked about his experience before officially joining the US military. Read below;

“So many stories behind the glory, I won’t wanna remember them, but at some point I slept in d forest in bone chilling cold & I won’t feel my hands, I feel my life leaving me. How I survived I don’t know. We stand in d sun for hours without moving, I got darker, but PERSISTENCE will earn me this!” Christian U Orji (A.K.A O'kriso).

Congratulations O'kriso, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (Futo) celebrates you.
