Rochas Okorocha – The attack on police headquarters are products of poverty and injustice

Senator Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State and senator currently representing Imo West Senatorial District, has recently condemned the destruction of police headquarters and attacks on police officers in Imo State.

The former Governor who condemned the ugly incident while speaking in Jos on 8th April, said the attacks were as a result of the high level of poverty and injustice combined together.

According to Senator Rochas Okorocha, the time has come for political leaders who mean well for the masses and the nation in general to tell themselves the truth and address the ugly happenings in the country. This move according to Rochas will help our men, women, police officers and other armed forces control the situation.

“The recent attack on the police headquarters, the Correctional Centres in Imo State, the unending herdsmen crisis and banditry, Boko Haram, kidnappings, these are all products of poverty and injustice.

“Time has come for we as political leaders to tell ourselves the truth and address this ugly situation and help our men and women of the Armed Forces and the police who are currently fighting the symptoms and not the disease. Something must be done urgently too.” Senator Rochas said.
